Your information. Your choice.
This service uses your email address to sign you in and deliver organization updates you choose to receive. Public organization profiles and reported schedule changes are visible to visitors. Personal resident information and organization verification contacts are not public.
Saved schools and ZIP code
Your account stores the districts and verified school organizations you choose to follow, an optional five-digit ZIP code, your notification preferences and your marketing choices. We use school follows for your saved outlooks and verified service updates. We do not request student names or enrollment details, and we do not use school follows or prediction votes for advertising audiences.
Marketing, audience matching and your choices
We ask separately before sending promotional email or using adult account information for advertising audiences. With advertising permission, Hurrdat may use your email and ZIP code to create, match and measure audiences for Hurrdat, its brands and advertising clients in Hurrdat-managed search and social campaigns. This can include sharing hashed email identifiers and audience membership with platforms such as Google and Meta. Hashes can be matched to platform accounts; they are not anonymous. Clients do not receive your resident contact list for independent use.
Both permissions are optional and off for new accounts. Existing residents are not automatically opted in. You must confirm that you are 18 or older to choose marketing. No advertising audience integration or audience upload is active in this MVP.
Open Your privacy and marketing choices, uncheck either permission and save to withdraw it. This does not unsubscribe you from school or organization updates; those have their own control. Marketing messages, when enabled, must include a separate unsubscribe option. A Global Privacy Control signal keeps advertising permission off when you save preferences. We record the version of the language you accepted, the time, your choices and subsequent changes so permission can be verified. Signing in, following a school or accepting terms alone is not advertising consent.
For access, correction, deletion, portability or an advertising opt-out request, use account settings where available or contact Hurrdat ONE. Identify this weather service and the email associated with your account. We may verify identity before acting. You can also use that contact route to ask for review of a privacy-request decision.
Retention and future campaign use
Preferences are retained while your account is active; you may remove your ZIP code and change your followed schools. Consent history is retained to document the choices recorded for the account. Account deletion removes these preference records, subject to any legally required retention and provider backup lifecycles. Before activating an advertising connection, Hurrdat must apply current consent and opt-out exclusions and establish removal procedures with that platform. Future integrations must not treat earlier blanket terms acceptance as new marketing permission.
School-day community voting
Voting does not require an account. A functional browser cookie, kept for up to 30 days, lets you update your prediction. We store a protected identifier specific to each district/date and use protected network identifiers to limit abuse. We do not ask for names, ages, grades or student profiles. Clearing cookies or switching browsers can allow repeat participation, so results are informal community opinion.
Only vote totals are public. Creating a share card stores a public, dated snapshot of the chosen prediction or weather outlook. Anyone with its link can view it. Voting and sharing do not subscribe you to emails. Hosting providers may retain normal security logs.
Email preferences
You can change your delivery preferences or unfollow an organization in My updates. Every update email includes an unsubscribe link. Essential account and verification messages are separate from optional organization alerts. Marketing messages require separate consent.
Organization verification
Our team reviews organization contact information and records evidence of authorization. We retain an audit history of verification and schedule changes to support accurate reporting and resolve disputes.
Service providers
We use Supabase for account and database services, Vercel for hosting, and Resend for email delivery. Forecasts come from the National Weather Service. Playing social videos may load content from YouTube or Instagram, which apply their own privacy practices.
Corrections and account requests
Use Hurrdat ONE’s contact form for questions, corrections, access or deletion requests. Organization reporting history may be retained where needed for security or accountability.
