Your account and local updates

Use your own email address and keep access to it secure. Resident accounts are for people 13 or older; if you are under 18, use the service with a parent or guardian’s permission. Do not submit student names, ages, grades, enrollment records or other information about children. You can save districts, follow verified organizations and choose service-update emails. Organization reporting and staff access require separate authorization.

Forecasts and official decisions

Forecasts, activity ratings and community predictions are planning tools, not guarantees or official closure announcements. Only the responsible school, organization or event operator can determine its schedule. Follow current official instructions and emergency alerts. A missing report does not confirm that an organization is open. Features and data availability may change during this MVP.

Optional marketing and advertising

Hurrdat operates media and marketing businesses. With your separate affirmative permission, Hurrdat may use your adult account’s email address and ZIP code to send promotional messages and to create, match, personalize and measure advertising audiences for Hurrdat, its brands and advertising clients in Hurrdat-managed campaigns.

Advertising audience use may involve sending hashed email identifiers and audience membership to search and social advertising platforms such as Google and Meta. Those platforms can match identifiers to their users; hashing is not anonymization. Hurrdat does not provide clients your resident contact list for their independent use. School selections, student information and school-day prediction votes are not advertising audience inputs.

Accepting these terms does not grant marketing permission. The email-marketing and advertising-audience choices are separate, optional and off for new accounts. Marketing choices are available only to adults who confirm they are 18 or older. You can decline or withdraw either choice in account preferences without losing weather, school or organization features. Service-update emails have a separate control. Withdrawing permission stops future use under that permission; it does not recall messages already delivered.

Community participation

Do not impersonate an organization, submit knowingly false reports, manipulate polls or interfere with the service. Shared prediction cards are public to anyone with the link. Hurrdat may correct, restrict or remove misleading content and suspend misuse.

Your information and requests

The Privacy Notice explains the data we collect, service providers, marketing choices and how to request access, correction or deletion. Material changes to these permissions will require an updated choice rather than automatically expanding an earlier consent.
